Type constants - are defined and have their values assigned in the component type and cannot be changed (nor are they visible) to instances of the type.
Type constants can have two forms:
1 - only accessible from within the defining type = TRUE - meaning that decendants cannot use it in methods
2- only accessible from within the defining type = FALSE - meaning that decendants can use it in methods
example: A process engineer defines type constants myscreensize=30[length] and maxtemperature=55[AbsoluteTemperature] which is used in various methods within the component type.
