the programming interface used for VIGO6. The programming language is COPP.

The COPP programmer does not need to learn any complicated syntax for the declaration of data types.
Program code is entered using the COPP editor. Program text is compiled line by line and is highlighted if the syntax used is not permitted (direct feedback).
The editor indicates where there is an error in the code, but it only shows the first error. This error must be removed before the next error is found.
Copy/Paste is possible.
Navigation in the tree can be done with the 4 arrow keys or the mouse

COPP elements can be expressed within VIGO6 in a tree structure, in a similar way to the navigation pane in Windows Explorer. This applies to data types, component types and the whole plant.

A component type is identified within the VIGO6 tree with a C icon. Changes of variable names automatic change the names in method (program). This encourage to adjust the names leading to better readability.

Data types, constants and variables are defined directly in the VIGO6 tree .
